So here I am again! THis week was especially difficult for many reasons. Maybe the main one was what was going on in my country Ukraine. Frankly speaking it was hard to concentrate on work when peaceful citizens were shot by snipers in Kyiv. Luckily, things are looking up and now I can go back to work.
So, as for one-computer classroom and usage of the mobile devices in the classroom. As I wrote in the discussion, I use one computer in my classrrom mostly for PowerPoint presentations, listening activities, watching movies in English and working with multimedia CDroms to our coursebooks. Also I organize all my work (like write lesson plans, compile tests, use and print out different coursebooks and grammar reference books for the lessons, etc) But after reading the articles, I understood that I can use my computer even more for developing different skills. I made a couple of successful Internet projects with my students and partners from other countries. I hope to continue work in this direction as it motivates students to read and write in English.
I registered on http://ru.padlet.com/ and I am going to create such wall with important information, competitions announcements etc.
And the most time-consuming and difficult task is project draft. I started doing it, but so far haven't found the partner to share it with. Hope that as soon as nicenet.org starts working again I'll find the partner))
So far that's all this week)))

Dear Iryna,
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, I would like to say that we in Lithuania support your country very much, we have direct broadcast of some important events in Ukraine and we are with all heart with you.
I haven`t found a partner yet as well. My project work is very simple, I am going to focus on students` listening skills using Podcasting. Would it be possible for us to cooperate, what do you think?
Regards, Rita
Dear Rita,
DeleteTHanks a lot for your support, I know that Lithuania even provided medical treatment to some of our protestants. I will be happy to cooperate with you as I also am going to use podcasts in my project, so it will be really interesting)))
Best wishes, Iryna
Dear Iryna,
ReplyDeleteBelieve me, you've been in my mind for the last couple of days - hope everything is fine, at least with you and yours!!!
I already have not one but two partners, otherwise I would love to have been your partner. Who knows if we don't have a partnership in the future???
There's alot one can do with padlets, but I have been using mine for about 3 years now and for book recommendations. Just let me know in case you need anything.
Haven't done much in my draft... have to hurry, but will have it ready for Wednesday. Have to!
Good luck. Best greetings from Portugal,
Alex
Dear Alex,
DeleteTHank you for the kind words. I also hope that we could cooperate in future)))
Best wishes, Iryna
Dear Iryna,
ReplyDeleteI am very sorry to hear the news from Ukraine, certainly a beautiful country with friendly people that deserve to live in peace, like everybody else.
You must know by now that Rita and I are your partners. I hope we can all work together fine. This week I commented on independent learners only, but I find the issue of the one-computer classroom very interesting, as I'm bound to work like that at least for another six months. The use of cell phones in class is also an interesting approach and I hope you comment on your experience when using it.
